About

Darnella Dunham

Multimedia professional Darnella Dunham began her career working in music, programming and promotions at Urban powerhouse WEDR (99 Jamz)/Miami. She started working at her hometown radio station after graduating from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Communications, where she carried a double major in Video-Film & African-American Studies with a minor in English. Other radio stops include co-hosting and producing the morning show on WJHM (102 Jamz)/Orlando, and working on-air and as the Music Director of WMBX (X102.3) & WJBW (B106.3)/West Palm Beach and WMIB (103.5 The Beat)/Miami.

While working in radio, Darnella built her profile as a writer by contributing articles to The Source, Ozone magazine and 305HipHop.com. And she sharpened her music skills as a Music Researcher for Mediabase. Darnella Dunham exited 103.5 The Beat to join the music industry trade publication Radio & Records (R&R), and eventually ascended to the position of Urban/Rhythmic/Gospel Editor.

After leaving R&R, Darnella began working for radio personality Michael Baisden by managing his Facebook page and other digital assets. In 2010 she moved on to Urban One’s digital division Interactive One as an Online Editor for the Philadelphia stations. A year later, Darnella remained with the company, relocated to New York City, and was eventually elevated to Senior Director of Content.

Darnella Dunham currently develops the strategy, manages and monetizes the digital and social media strategy for several celebrities.
